PRINCIPLE #2
Use a patient chair that enhances operator comfort
Thin, narrow backrests and low-profile patient headrests allow the operator to work closer to the patient, while maintaining proper posture
Programmable chairs with a last position memory feature help to ensure that the patient chair is routinely positioned at the proper height for a specific operator.
Good lumbar support and proper pivot points keep the patient comfortable and minimize patient "repositioning" and subsequent operator adjustments.
ISSUES: Wide, bulky, recliner-style patient chairs make it difficult for an operator to work without extending his/her arms or leaning forward. Likewise, a thick headrest can force an operator to work with arms/shoulders in an unnatural or uncomfortable position.
